Laverton Community Education Centre

Laverton Community Education Centre (LCEC) is the education and training arm of Laverton Community Integrated Services (LCIS). LCIS is a not-for-profit community-based and managed organisation that has serviced the needs of the people of Laverton and the western suburbs since 1974.

We are committed to improving education and employment opportunities of people with a disability in our region. We have successfully delivered the Certificate I in Work Education for young people with a cognitive impairment in Laverton, Werribee, Corio and Ringwood. We deliver pre-accredited programs targeting people with disability in employment training, arts, hospitality, horticulture, health and wellbeing and digital literacy and cyber-safety.

We have a dedicated support officer to ensure learners with a disability have the best chances of successful outcomes in our programs. Successful outcomes include further study in mainstream and disability-specific courses and employment in open and supported workplaces.

We are strongly inter-connected with our region. Our key relationships and partners include local councils, disability and youth support networks, disability service providers(NDIS registered and non registered), Disability Employment Service providers, NDIS support coordinators, local schools and more. These relationships allow us to maximise outcomes for learners with a disability.

Our education and training programs are funded from the Victoria and Federal Departments of Education. This support allows us to offer a wide range of programs including pre-accredited employment and life-skills programs and accredited programs in Early Childhood Education and Care, Aged Care , Disability Support and Work education. In addition, we delivery accredited English language programs through the Skills for Education and Employment Program (SEE) and Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP).
