Williamstown Community and Education Centre

Established in 1974, Williamstown Community and Education Centre has been servicing the community for over 40 years. We offer a range of services and programs across Hobsons Bay including Altona North, Spotswood and Williamstown. We provide family support, skill development and social activities. We deliver quality adult education programs which reflect the interests and needs of all sectors of our community. We have a strong commitment to the use of new learning technologies to improve learning outcomes for our community. Our aim to the community is that we supply affordable quality programs in a supportive comfortable environment.
We manage two houses Joan Kirner House and Spotswood Community House. Both of our houses are wheelchair friendly and those with a disability are welcome to participate in any class or program. We have specific programs that run all year round for those with a Mild Intellectual Disability (MID). MID programs and activities include those in Drama, Art, Craft, Life Skills, Basic Computers, iPad, Walking Group and Communication Skills. Those with a physical disability are welcome into these programs, and other courses, including English Language and Computer classes. Clients are welcome to try out sessions for free to see if it is suitable for them. All courses are Government subsidised, the fees are minimal and for an entire semester. Once enrolled in one program, clients are free to enrol in as many others as they want for free.
